Give Help

Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of our foodbank. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind our foodbank. We have a great team of around 50 volunteers at Stamford Foodbank enabling us to get emergency food to people in crisis. Volunteers need to be over 18 years of age. We currently have enough volunteers however we do regularly have spaces in the following areas so it is worth getting in touch with us to find out where our current needs are.

Warehouse volunteer

Help to weigh, sort and store donated food before it’s made into parcels for clients to collect. You could help in this vital work to ensure we have the right food available at all times.

Helping at a foodbank centre

During the centre opening hours we have two roles to fill:

Meeting and greeting our clients:  Volunteers have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost them to further support.

Packing: Volunteers pack the 3 day emergency food parcels for the clients to take away.

Some of our volunteers help out once a month and some help out every week. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
